Chicago Bulls, Chicago Blackhawks, and United Center Standardize Technology and Integrate Business Processes with Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Integration to Microsoft Office and SharePoint, shared view of customer information, and automated workflows streamline business processes and increase sales representative productivity

Chicago, IL USA – September 22, 2009 – Sonoma Partners, a leading provider of Microsoft Dynamics CRM in the United States, announced that the United Center, home to the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Bulls, expanded its Microsoft Dynamics CRM deployment to the team’s Corporate Sponsorship and Marketing departments. This is the fourth phase of a customer relationship management project that started last year.  

Starting in 2008, Sonoma Partners led a project to deploy Microsoft Dynamics CRM in the Chicago Bulls, Chicago Blackhawks and the United Center’s Prospecting and Premium Seating departments to replace multiple existing Goldmine deployment. The goal of the initial CRM project was to streamline sales processes and consolidate onto one Microsoft technology platform. Because Microsoft Dynamics CRM offers the capability to reuse and easily update existing modules from one organization to another, the United Center benefitted from a cost effective and timely rollout to the multiple departments.

The United Center is part of a joint venture between affiliates of the the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks. Each business has approximately 30 sales representatives using Microsoft Dynamics CRM to manage prospect lists, customer information, track inventory data, manage contracts and follow up on activities with automated workflow processes. With the additional rollout of Microsoft Dynamics CRM to the Corporate Sponsorship and Marketing departments, users will also have the ability to track sponsorship assets such as scoreboard and ribbonboard advertising, concourse signs, and TV and/or radio spots.

“We chose Microsoft Dynamics CRM because our previous CRM solution was not scalable or flexible enough to accommodate our separate businesses and existing technology platforms,” said Robert Gorman, Director of Information Systems at the United Center. “Microsoft Dynamics CRM works much better for us because of its automated workflows, integration with Microsoft Office, SharePoint 2007 and other vertical market applications.”

Gorman is excited about next steps in the project which will include integrating the Levy dining and catering business as well as the teams Community Relations department’s to Microsoft Dynamics CRM later this year.
