Sonoma Partners In the News - 2004

Slow Microsoft CRM pace frustrates partners, users
InfoWorld - June 23, 2004

One consultancy that deals exclusively with Microsoft CRM, Chicago-based Sonoma Partners LLC, said business has picked up since Microsoft began promoting the software to its developer community. Microsoft's December release of Microsoft CRM 1.2, and the feature extensions due in August, have gone a long way toward filling in holes, according to Sonoma Partners principal Mike Snyder.

"I think most people realize Microsoft CRM is really strong," Snyder said. "Everyone wants it done faster, but most people aren't buying it for the quick hit. It's not perfect right now, but it's clear to customers that there's a road map and improvements are coming."

Equity Taps CRM for Tracking Condo Sales

Through additional enhancements, Sonoma empowered Equity Residential's sales agents to quickly generate purchasing agreements, closing worksheets, tax letters, warrantee deeds, paid assessment letters, bills of sale and titles. Software from ActivePDF Inc., of Mission Viejo, Calif., works hand in hand with Microsoft CRM and manages the document generation. "The instant creation of these documents eliminates errors and saves hours of time for each condo unit sold," said Snyder.

Satisfied with the current rollout, Equity Residential has big CRM plans for the future. By next year, the CRM system will manage more than 10,000 condo units across 50 property locations, according to Baker.
