Dynamic Forms Solution Accelerator

While Microsoft Dynamics CRM offers a very flexible security model and excellent form customization capabilities, many customers have business requirements that don't fit nicely within the web-based editing tools. Consequently they will need a developer to write custom javascript to accomplish what they're trying to do.

Seeing this as a very common customer request, Sonoma Partners developed a Dynamic Forms solution accelerator that allows system customizers (non-developers) to setup and configure very complex form rules using a web-based editor. With our Dynamics Form solution accelerator, consultants or analysts can configure form scripting requirements without writing a single line of code!

With Dynamic Forms, power users need only a working knowledge of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM system to configure rules that:

• Conditionally hide a field or section on a form for specific security roles depending. For example, you might restrict the Marketing Information section on the Contact form for any user who does not have a Marketing security role, or hide a Social Security or tax ID field from all users who don’t have an administrator role. (conditional field-level security)


• Display or hide a field or section on a form if a specific value is selected in another field. For example, you might display a section for financial fields only for customer-type accounts, or hide the customer’s e-mail address field if they have opted out of e-mail communications from your organization.


• Make a field required on the form only if another field is populated or contains a specific value. For example, if a certain sales stage or probability is entered on an opportunity, you might require key dates and revenue fields on the form before the record can be saved.


• Change the drop-down list options based on other values selected on a form. For example, if an opportunity is related to an existing customer, you might remove some of the lower-probability stages from the Sales Stage drop-down list.
